World Rhythm Drum Class

Date: Every Monday
Location: Chrysalis Healing Arts in Dallas, 4529 Worth Street, Dallas Texas
Start: 7:00 p.m.
End: 8:30 p.m.
Description: This is an open level drum class where you can learn a wide range of traditional rhythms, from Africa to Middle East, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. We learn drum circle techniques and principles as well.

Developed in 1970 by Austrian musician and composer Reinhard Flatischler, TaKeTiNa participants are guided via call-and-response as well as the pulse of surdo drum through a series of steps, claps, and songs. This process induces a flux between two states, namely: being IN rhythm and being OUT of rhythm. Participants fall in and out of rhythm in the circle, a process analogous to our movement through life. Each time TaKeTiNa participants find their way back to the basic pulse and fall back in rhythm, they experience rhythm at a more profound and intense level. In TaKeTiNa, you can experience the following:

Greater Sense of Community and Connection with Others - Joy and Intensity - Spontaneous Laughter and/or Tears - Being In the Present Moment

TaKeTiNa Teacher Training

Michael had his first experience with TaKeTiNa at a 3-day workshop with Zorina Wolf in Austin, Texas. He had found what he had been looking for his whole life, which was a unique physical practice of rhythm that induces deep, intrapersonal healing and change. He signed up to become a TaKeTiNa rhythm process teacher and began his studies with Reinhard Flatischler on that same weekend of his first workshop. He experienced profound changes in his life since beginning TaKeTiNa training. Others have even told him that he had become more patient, tolerant, and compassionate. TaKeTiNa looks like it's just about clapping and stepping, but it's something much, much deeper as it teaches how to flow with the ever-changing rhythm of life. Contact us if you wish to experience the TaKeTiNa process at your location.
